How it came about?

In 2008 Beach rugby hit the sands of Australia at the Mordialloc beach in Melbourne for the very first time 3 years after the founder Alan Latu had returned from playing rugby in Spain. He had seen the success on Beach Rugby in Europe and couldn't believe it had not taken off in Australia. Mahino events have managed the event for the past decade taking the Beach Rugby Championships from Glenelg Beach South Australia, Town Beach Port Mcquarie NSW, Nobby's Beach Newcastle NSW and now the event has firmed it's feet in the sand at St Kilda West Beach since 2010..... But there are plenty Beaches it can go   The event is all about the fun and promoting healthy living.
